Screenflow Application

imgres.jpgFor our group evaluation we will be using ScreenFlow, which is a mac application to film yourself and the screen.
At the first sight of the app, we had a 5 minute presentation from a student a year above speak to us about it, as he got a very high grade for the evaluation.
he was very helpful and made it look very easy to use.

"ScreenFlow will record everything from your iSight camera to microphone audio or speaker audio enabling you to add crystal clear commentaries to your screencasts. ScreenFlow even monitors keystrokes and mouse movements, which is pretty clever. the app also has an excellent zoom function which allows you to addd a touch of class and profesionalism to your screen casts. recording quality is excellent, and thanks to a high frame-rate (which you can set), your videos look as if everything was actually happening on your screen. what is also surprising is that ScreenFlow is very lightweight for what is effectively a video editor, consuming relatively few CPU and RAM resources. Exporting is possible in all major formats and YouTube fans can now share their productions instantly. The program has one glaring drawback however and thats thats you can't add text, subtitles or simple text annotations to your beautifully produced screencasts, it's probably worth it."

Wrong Return - Editing 4

The last bit of editing we had to do to our thriller opening was to shorten it as it was over 00:03:30 long and the maximum amount of time we that was allow is 00:02:30 to 00:03:00.
We had to cut down the speech with Lola (Angela) and Scarlet (PC Brown) as it was taking the most amount of time. We managed to get it to 00:02:30.
But...
It didn't look as great as it should off so I added some cross dissolves, when Scarlet (PC Brown) is saying the phone number to Lola (Angela) and also when Lola (Angela) was saying bye, as it didn't look necessary plus it adds to the effect of suspense.
The hardest bit of editing our thriller was the speech as it was hard to shorten it and have it still make sense to the audience. This part of the edit took us the longest as we wanted it to look as professional as possible.
